St. Nicholas School Ballina

Facilities

Woodwork

We are very fortunate to have a fully equipped woodwork room where our senior pupils attend weekly lessons with our woodwork teacher.

Home Economics Room

This is a wonderful fully equipped space for pupils to enjoy weekly cookery lessons with their teachers.

Outdoor Space and PE Hall

In recent years an outdoor canopy was built at the rear of our school building. We look forward to adding more equipment and resources for pupils’ enjoyment of this outdoor space.

Our pupils have access to a large PE hall where they enjoy weekly PE classes with PE teacher.

School Bus

Our pupils enjoy trips on our school bus throughout the school year and during our July Summer Programme.

Cubbie

We are very pleased and extremely grateful that our school now has a Cubbie, donated by UK based company, ArdentTide. Access to the Cubbie provides an individual sensory experience for our pupils.

The Cubbie is a safe, digital, immersive space of sound, light and video with a choice of seats, catering for one pupil at a time and driven by software. Every user has a unique profile that the Cubbie Occupational Therapist recommends and creates in conjunction with their software. Cubbie has transparent doors that are deliberately designed unlockable and allow the student to be always visible. For further information on the benefits of the Cubbie, please check Cubbie website.
