St. Nicholas School Ballina

July Summer Programme 2023

As with previous years our July Summer Programme 2023 was most successful. There were many activities arranged in line with the Dept’s theme for the programme this year, ‘Building Confidence and Connections’. Our pupils had the opportunity to meet members of the following groups: Dance World, Moffat Irish Dancing School, Lawlor School of Song and Traditional Irish music group. Our pupils also met volunteers involved with the mural project who offered assistance to pupils to add handprints on the mural. Pupils from Scoil ĺosa, participating in their July Summer Programme, visited our school for a range of activities including, cookery, music sessions and outdoor play with our pupils. Pupils from Scoil ĺosa also enjoyed accessing our Cubbie, sensory room and the PE hall. There was great excitement with the arrival of the ice-cream van and the fire engine during our Family Fun day, organised during the programme.
Our pupils enjoyed many aspects of Heritage Day. As with previous years, newly enrolled pupils visited our school at various times over the July Summer Programme. Parents were most appreciative of the opportunity for their children to become familiar with our school setting and grounds and to meet pupils and staff. A token of appreciation was presented to staff working on the programme, as well as a team of bus escorts involved. Each teacher compiled a photobook for each pupil, which displays their involvement in various activities during the programme. Wishing our pupils, their families and our staff a wonderful summer holiday!
